Bonjour from a cold France.  We flew into Frankfurt and picked up the first car.  We found the driving a little challenging to say the least.  Trucks everywhere.  Daniel has been a trooper and has pushed thru so we could arrive in calais.  I had in  in mind to see Koln cathedral.  Daniel wanted to see the city of Koblenz.  Very cool in the summer time.  Cable cars across the Rhine and snow on the ground what a sight.  We vetured up to the Koln cathedral.  I think it was 533 steps to the top, what a climb :)
It was tough due to we just flew in and were very tired.  It kept knocking on our mind that it was a 4 hour plus ride all the way to Calais.  So off we go, thru the city or Brussels.  Nightmare.  5pm and dead stop on the upper ring that should of been like 15 mins.  More like two hours.  Highlight of the trip was the use of the water bottle into a piss tube :)  Dumped onto the Brussels ring.  If I could of crapped you never know ;)
On to Calais.  It was all of the 4 hours.  We decided to look for a Holiday Inn near the ferry port.  Not happening.  The Ibis hotel was the only thing lit up and that was to be.  Micro wave meal and a bad beer for about $45.  What do you expect late at night.  We were so tired we really did not care.  Happens that the wifi did not work.  I was hoping to write last night and that fell thru.  Daniel had an email late and I went to bed.  The hotel had a lone computer in the lobby accesible for 10 mins at a time.
In the morning we knew that the docks were the destination and getting there was 20 mins.  As usual a cluster :)  They sent us to The City of Europe.  A completely new city that rose from the Chunnel.  All like brand new.  Hertz had my crappy car.  About the size of a smart car only smaller!  It will do 130km on the autobahn.  We knew we wanted to get to Brussels to turn Damiels car back in and get on our way.  Not to be!!  We decided to head north into Antwerp.  Big mistake.  Just a working town and nothing really to see.  The train station was cool, but the whole town smelled like piss and dirty ass.  Time to go :)  Headed over to Bruge.  What a cool town.  Just what the trip needed.  Restaurant and bars, mixed in with 500 year old buildings.  Cobblestone streets and misty fog.  What a night!!!

We ate a place that had a 5 course meal.  Nice fire and finished with desert.  I will attach a video and some pix.  We are here for two nights.  Until tomorrow ......
